Bomet Groom Says He Cried Bitterly After Wedding With Bride Nelly Was Cancelled: "Lowest Moment"

Rono, the would-be groom to young Nelly Chepkoech, has shared that calling off their relationship was not a walk in the park.

Amos breaks up with Nelly

Amos and Rono were slated to get married on Saturday, December 9, but sadly, the wedding was called off, and the two parties have since given varying reasons for the drastic decision.

So far, relatives and clergymen have also shared their accounts of the sad events, and efforts to reconcile the two have not been successful.

"I have cried a tank full of tears before arriving at the decision to sever the relationship for good," Rono told the Nation.

"It would not serve me well as a youth leader in the church. It's one of my lowest moments but it is a bullet I must bite," he added.

Amos' and Nelly's contradicting statements

His statement was in stark contrast with Nelly's words when she explained her side of the story. At the time, Nelly was hopeful that the wedding would still be done at a later date.

"We were advised by the church that we should push forward the date of the wedding as the validity of the marriage runs into February 2024," said the hopeful would-be-bride.

Amos's declarations came in the wake of another by pastor Clement Chelulot, who said that the families of the two former lovebirds were working on picking a new date.

Nelly's dad says daughter didn't cancel wedding

Nelly's father, Charles Koskei, revealed the reverend, who was set to officiate his daughter's wedding, cancelled it.

Nelly and Amos's wedding was cancelled a few hours before the big day, leaving Kenyans shocked.

The father of the 23-year-old told TUKO.co.ke that the couple's courtship was short and they had not submitted copies of their parents' IDs.
