Busia - Attackers who broke into the home of a primary school headteacher in Buteba village, Teso South sub-county, shot and killed him before stealing chama money that was kept in boxes.

Prisca Amoit, the widow of Charles Emoto, claims that on the night of Wednesday, December 13, thugs armed with axes and firearms broke into their home and took the money.

"The money included collections from members of a group the couple belonged to," she explained.

Citizen Digital reported that Emoto oversaw Ong'arima Primary School as its headteacher.

Teso South sub-county police boss Amos Ambasa and officer Said Majumbo confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are in progress.

What Busia police wants the public to do

They urged the public to come to report to the closest police station if they had any information about the offenders.

In a related story, TUKO.co.ke reported that police officers launched a manhunt for suspects who allegedly shot and killed a man in Nairobi's Utawala area.

The incident, which happened on Friday, September 23, left the victim dead on the spot.

According to the police report seen by TUKO.co.ke, the suspects, aboard two vehicles, attacked the man with a female companion on Gesora Road before shooting him multiple times.

An eyewitness, Paul Kariuki, told the police who visited the crime scene that the incident occurred at 1pm.

How a Nairobi man was shot dead

Kariuki said he saw two motor vehicles, one Isuzu Trooper colour cream and a Double Cabin at high speed.

He said the vehicles stopped, and the occupants got out and started shooting the victim, who was accompanied by an unknown lady, and both were trying to run away.

The lady was taken by the suspects, and together the two motor vehicles sped off towards Gesora Road, turning in the V-mall direction.

Police arrived at the scene and found the victim’s bullet-riddled body near a building under construction on Gesora Road.

Authorities said the man’s body had multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim’s body was taken to City Mortuary, awaiting an autopsy and identification.
