A woman is in pain as her selflessness to her employer has rendered her jobless and on the brink of mental stress.

Debbie Stevens willingly donated her kidney to her ailing boss, hoping it would save her employer's life, as reported by M9.

Working at New York State Human Rights Commission

The generosity of the 47-year-old did pay off, as she saved her boss Jackie Brucia's life, who returned to work with energy.

Stevens resumed work with the New York State Human Rights Commission about a month later when hell broke loose.

"She just started treating me horribly, viciously, inhumanly after the surgery. I did not do it for job security. I didn't do it to get a raise. I did it because it's who I am," she said as reported by ABC News.

Taking leave days to recuperate

The New York woman said her 61-year-old boss would scream and yell at her, getting mad over "petty" things, before demoting her.

Stevens occasionally took leave days as she continued to recuperate, but her recovery process took longer than expected.

Her boss could not tolerate it anymore, and within a week after legal authorities took up the matter, Stevens was fired.

She said it was "constant, constant screaming" until she would "start to tear up at times" because she could not handle it.

Seeking professional help from psychiatrist

It reached a point where Stevens had to seek the intervention of a psychiatrist as her mental health was at stake.

The broken-hearted lady said she had no hard feelings against her boss as the matter was being handled by legal authorities.

"I have no comment on her. I'm just going walk ahead and live my life," Stevens said.

Fired after agreeing to date boss

Separately, a lady who agreed to date her boss got fired from work as chats went viral.

The beautiful lady shared the unexpected message she received from her wealthy boss on WhatsApp.

According to the lady, she had earlier decided to give her boss a chance in her life after he showed interest in her.

However, their relationship with each other went sour, and he stopped her from stepping foot in his company.
