The festival was held at Kigali's BK Arena, hosting over 8,000 attendees and featuring artists from different countries, including our very own Azziad Nasenya.

"Kenyans in Rwanda for Kendrick Lamar. We made it. We absolutely made it. What a dream come true,"he wrote.

Meanwhile, activist Boniface Mwangi decried the sorry state of Kenyan stadia, which he blamed on corruption, saying it was why Kenya could not host events like Kendrick's Rwanda show.

"You can't hold a decent event at Uhuru Gardens when it rains unless you tell your guests to wear gumboots because the grounds become a mud bath. They also failed to light the perimeter fence," his statement read in part.

Mashujaa Day attendees soaked in mud at Kerisho Green stadium

In a similar story, barely two months ago, Kenyans online shared their reservations over the renovation works done at the Kericho Green Stadium ahead of Mashujaa Day celebrations.

The stadium was reportedly upgraded at a cost of KSh 400 million.

However, Kenyans expressed their displeasure at the outcome of the work done in the stadium.

Most Kenyans shared images of attendees to the Mashujaa Day fete soaked in mud while some had their shoes stuck in the pools of water.

A section criticised the government for staging the national celebration in a stadium they see as not yet ready.
