One of the brothers, Davis, recalled they did not have an easy time during the KCSE period, highlighting their struggles in getting to school.

He gave an instance when his classmates laughed at him because of catching a cold after he was heavily rained on while going to school.

"One of the challenges was the long distance. In fact, I think it was four kilometres that we had to trek every day. We were heavily rained on. When I was doing my KCSE, it was by the grace of God that I endured a running nose. I remember one day, when I entered the class, some of my classmates laughed at me," he said.

Kirinyaga twins share what it takes to excel

The other twin, Denis, maintained that it was down to their perseverance and hard work that saw them achieve the fete.

He explained that God was at the centre of their success in the national exam, adding that the teachers assisted them whenever necessary.

"If you want something, you must struggle, put in your utmost effort, cooperate with each other, and seek help from teachers because good things don't come from easy places. You must strive completely. And all I do is thank the Almighty for being with us, and also appreciate the teachers for how they have assisted us while being with my brother," he stated.

They both went to day schools after their guardians could not raise funds to attend the schools they were called to after KCPE.

Linus Kiprop scored B minus

In another uplifting report, Linus Kiprop, the Chavakali High School student who went viral for trekking home after being sent for fees, scored a B minus.

Kiprop's story touched hearts in 2021 after he walked over 35 km to Kakamega town because he did not have the fare.

He arrived at night and was stranded in the streets, then pleaded with a watchman to spend the night beside him.
