Kisumu Woman Slams Men Who Spend On Clothes, Alcohol But Don't Have Village Homes: "Such A Shame"

A Kisumu woman identified as Florence Milburn Otieno has called out men who squander their money on alcohol and expensive clothes but do not have a house in the village.

Sit in tents reserved for Nairobians

According to the beauty, the men, especially from the Luo and Luhya communities, come from families with large tracts of land left for grabbing by greedy relatives.

"When you die, your friends will place you in a tent, yet in Nairobi, you were the one enjoying. At least visit home, even if only in December, as it will push you to build your house," said Florence.

"You are a grown-up man who went through circumcision, but when you go for funerals, you sit in the tent reserved for Nairobi guests, and instead of controlling things you are praying for somewhere to sleep," said Florence in an interview with TUKO.co.ke.

First Africa Adventures against men staying in towns

The Chief Executive Officer of First Africa Adventures said the men end up sleeping in their parents' house, and it is such a shame.

"Keep a small house; don't just stick in Nairobi. A whole man doesn't even know how to slash grass in their compounds or even build a chicken house," said the entrepreneur.

"You are not starting from zero; you are starting from experience and big ideas...stop limiting yourselves with Nairobi pressure. If you have a small amount of money, start a small business, or lease land for planting maize and beans or even bananas," advised Florence.

She told unemployed people suffering in towns to go back to the villages and start poultry farming.

"You have given birth to kids in Nairobi who don't know their home and you also don't know anything ... that even your land has been grabbed or it is now a bush," she said.

Palatial village home amazes Kenyans

In another story, Kenyan Facebook group Home Beautiful's members sparked a viral trend showcasing stunning village homes, challenging the notion of "dead capital" in rural real areas.
