Kiambu county - The Catholic faithful of Ichaweri have new a place of worship.

St. John the Baptist Chapel was consecrated on Saturday, December 16, opening doors to hundreds of locals who would now set into the church for their weekly divine dosage.

The church located along Kenyatta Road was built by former first Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta whose family joined other congregants in gracing the sanctification ceremony.

The ultra-modern kirk, sitting on a sizeable tract, boasts of an antique cathedral, finesse wood finishings, and stained glass windows.

Mama Ngina revealed the building was a vision by her family's patriarch, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

The consecration service was presided by His Grace Philip Anyolo, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Nairobi, alongside other members of the clergy.
