South Sudanese artiste MT7 Degreez has come forward to issue a public apology to his wife and fellow singer Juna De Star over his controversial remarks during a recent interview.

It all began when the "Aya Beledi" hitmaker claimed that he was the only star in South Sudan, sentiments that seemed to dismiss Juna De Star as merely his "baby mama."

"I'm sorry," MT7 Degreez

He expressed regret for any unintended disrespect that may have been caused by the media's interpretation of his words.

In the lengthy apology on his Facebook page, the singer clarified that he spoke about himself and his artistic journey.

MT7 Degreez added that the bond between him and Juna De Star is unbreakable, and as a man, he takes responsibility for any confusion that arose from his words.

"Juna de Star, the mother of my child, is undoubtedly one of the finest female artists in South Sudan, and I hold great respect for her talents,” read part of the statement.

Disaster averted

He explained that his comments aimed to emphasise artists' individuality, asserting their right to proclaim themselves as stars in their own right.

MT7 Degreez appreciated Juna De Star's artistic prowess and acknowledged her as a prominent figure in the South Sudanese music scene.

His apology sparked discussions within the entertainment industry, with fans praising him for owning up to his mistake.

Many congratulated him for acting swiftly to resolve the apparent conflict between the two artists.

Not deadbeat father

The crooner maintained that he was committed to ensuring their shared focus remained on providing their beloved daughter with a nurturing and supportive environment.

I'm truly sorry for any hurt caused, and I appreciate your understanding,” MT7 Degreez wrote in the statement.

Addressing the allegations of being a deadbeat father, MT7 refuted the claims, asserting that he actively participates in his daughter's life.

He clarified that he took their daughter to Kampala for her studies and that she is currently in his home village in Lake State, visiting relatives for the Christmas holidays.

Groom cries during wedding

Earlier on, a South Sudanese businessman went viral on social media for crying like a small boy during the unveiling of his bride.

The event's promoter, Bol Abuk, seemingly couldn't believe he was finally getting married to his long-term lover, Regina.

Many have commended him for allowing the moment to take over him, as it shows that he loves the woman from his heart.
