Uasin Gishu - The four men who were found dead in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) training school field were beaten with blunt objects, an autopsy report has shown.

The victims who were killed after allegedly trespassing into the Ngano maize farm owned by KDF to collect maize remains after harvesting on the night of Saturday, November 25, died due to internal bleeding.

"We found that these four gentlemen died as a result of internal bleeding which was caused by blunt trauma on the lower parts of the body, in their behinds and legs and lower back.
It looks like they were beaten repeatedly, and they bled till they died. The bleeding was internal," he told the media after the autopsy at the Eldoret-based hospital.

The pathologist said he had filled out the post-mortem form and submitted it to the police as investigations into the incident continued.

Expressing disgust over the animosity between the residents and the soldiers, area MP Julius Rutto said he would be seeking a solution in the National Assembly.

"I condemn with the strongest term possible yesternight incident that happened to the residents of Kapchurman in Kamagut Ward where five residents died following a confrontation at Kamagut RTS. This animosity between the residents and the soldiers which has been going on for a while must come to an end. I will be seeking answers on the Floor of the House on the same," he said.

In other tragic news reported recently, police detained a man suspected to have killed a third-year student at Rongo University.

Rongo University student's death

Titus Limangura would face murder charges after allegedly stabbing to death Abel Chumba, who had 'Kiddo' as a pet name.

The state law enforcers confirmed on Friday, November 3 that they had apprehended him following the incident.

The duo, both third-year students at the Migori-based university, was having fun on November 2 when an altercation happened between them.

At the centre of their argument was a bottle of beer.

The university’s vice-chancellor, Professor Samuel Gudu, confirmed that the two friends-turned-foes had left the varsity's precincts for a drink when they later disagreed and started fighting.

They were on their way back when the fight turned tragic; Chumba bled excessively and was rushed to Tabaka Mission Hospital in the adjoining Kisii town, where he died.

“We are very shocked by the incident that happened on Wednesday night. We understand that they fought while they were drinking. The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed his fellow student,” Gudu said.

The institution's Dean of Students, Ben Asugo, commiserated with the family and friends of the deceased.

“On behalf of the student’s fraternity, I wish to convey our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and relatives. May the Lord give them strength to overcome the challenge. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Asugo stated.

Until his death, Chumba, 21, was pursuing a bachelor's program in journalism.
