African UN Youth Delegates (AUNYD) has announced vacancies for the UN Youth Delegates for the 2024 cohort.

What does the African UN Youth Delegates Project entail?

In an advertisement on its social media platform, AUNYD said it was seeking to recruit a new generation aimed at building up the UN associations in all participating countries.

"The project aims to support, guide, and dispatch a new generation of UN Youth Delegates from Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, and South Sudan. Further, we aim to build up UN associations in all participating countries and give you the chance to become a UN Youth Fellow and engage with the work of the United Nations on the ground," AUNYD said.

Successful candidates will access UN internships and outreach programmes and will be invited to the National Assessment Workshop in Nairobi.

"Young, highly motivated people between the ages of 18 and 32 with sufficient command of the English language. Further, the applicants need to be available to travel and attend workshops throughout 2024," the advert read.

How to apply for UN internships

Some of those selected will be picked to represent youth interests at the United Nations in New York.

"At the National Assessment, two fellows will be selected to become this year's UN Youth Delegates and will get the chance to represent the youth interests at the United Nations in New York and regionally in East Africa. Further, the two delegates will be invited to three regional workshops," the advertisement read.

Both fellows and delegates will be required to attend and travel to events and workshops throughout the year, so please confirm your availability on the given dates before applying.

Interested candidates have been asked to complete the application forms before January 15, 2024.

Qatar Airways advertises jobs for Kenyans

In other news, Qatar Airways announced several vacancies, asking Kenyans to apply at their Nairobi branch.

In an advertisement on Monday, December 18, the airline said it was seeking to recruit cabin crew members for 2024.

The advertisement said the airline seeks to recruit highly motivated individuals to join the cabin crew and cabin services departments due to their ongoing expansion programme.

"As our global network continues to expand, we have exciting opportunities for talented individuals to join our award-winning Cabin Crew team. We are in search of highly motivated talent to deliver our legendary hospitality and world-class service, creating memorable customer experiences," the advert read.
