A video capturing Kenyans crowded with their heavy bags and suitcases at an Easycoach bus station waiting to travel has sparked reactions online.

The TikTok video shared by @mapesa showed a number of stranded strangers patiently waiting to board their buses to travel upcountry for the Christmas holiday.

Kenyans scramble for buses to travel upcountry

Two buses were visible in the video, and while one had its door open, the other one seemed fully loaded awaiting departure.

A majority of others are seen sitting in the lobby with their huge loads of travel bags hinting that the available buses were either fully booked or had reached their capacity.

The video comes in amid an outcry from Kenyans that people are broke and might find it hard to travel upcountry for the festivities.

Kenyans on TikTok shared their opinions saying that the video was putting some pressure to travel upcountry while they probably didn't have those plans while others wondered where they were getting money from.

Luo woman laments after missing bus

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke featured a woman from Ugenya, Siaya County after airing out her frustrations after finding out that there are no buses available to ferry her home.

According to the TikToker, her desire is to travel home because she is the one carrying all the food her grandmother will eat on Christmas Day.

Her post got others who had missed buses to seek lifts, while car owners also offered to help those heading in their village direction.
