What course did Wetang'ula's son specialise in?

According to Wetang'ula, higher education opens people's minds to broader horizons and makes one competitive globally.

"Today, my family and I had the honour to witness my son, Dr. Eugene Wetangula, get conferred with a PhD in Juridical Science from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia," Wetang'ula said.

Wetang'ula was accompanied by his family to witness his son's big day in Australia. He shared lovely photos of the graduation ceremony.

What Wetang'ula advised new graduates in MKU

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the National Assembly asked Kenyans to stop lamenting over the lack of opportunities in the country.

During the 23rd Graduation Ceremony of Mount Kenya University on Friday, August 4, where he was the Chief Guest, Wetang'ula told Kenyans to grab job opportunities outside the country.

Wetang'ula said Kenyans could adapt and live anywhere in the world, pointing to examples of his interactions with Kenyans working abroad.

The Speaker claimed that if anyone was keen to observe, the hospitality industry in East Africa and its neighbours is under Kenyan professionals.

"This tells you our tremendous capacity to adapt anywhere and everywhere in the world. Thanks to institutions like Mt Kenya Univesity that mould our young people into giving them the ability and opportunity to fit in anywhere in the world in the job market. So as we cry back home that we have no jobs, opportunities are bound out there. You visit our neighbours; the hospitality industry is manned by Kenyans," he said.
