Baringo - President William Ruto has shown time and time again that he is a fan of fedora hats when in casual wear.

During the Kimalel Goat Auction and Cultural Festival on Thursday, December 14, the head of state encountered a lady selling hats in one of the stalls.

The head of state interrogated the elderly woman who was selling them before inquiring about the price of one he was carrying.

She boldly told the president that the hat goes for KSh 10,000, much to the surprise of the head if state.

Before Ruto could reply, the lady stated that the price was in line with Ruto's bottom-up economic model, leaving him and other leaders in laughter.

After much negotiation, Ruto agreed to buy two of the hats, with the lady explaining that they buy some hats and do modifications for value addition.

How many goats did Ruto buy

The president and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, purchased goats amounting to KSh 15 million at the festival in Baringo.

Leading the auction, Ruto declared that he and his deputy would acquire 1,000 goats out of the 3000 goats at the auction at a rate of KSh 15,000 each.

"The DP and I will buy one goat at KSh 15,000, but the rest have said they will buy at KSh 13,000, and we will allow them that," Ruto said.
