Rahma, who has been living abroad, was shocked when she went to the propoerty and bumped into a carpenter building a kibanda.

Upon questioning, she discovered that Mama Sophia was not only building rental properties on their land but had even processed a title deed in her name.

"I came back home from the UK for the sole reason of taking charge of this property our father left us. This matter will have to be resolved by the authorities at all costs," and angry Rahma retorted.

Tussle began many years back

Apparently, the fight over the controversial piece of land dates years back when the patriarch was still alive.

Rahma disclosed that her father, who was the area councillor, and a man named Kivela fought over it but the former won the case.

"The pieces of land around this area do not have title deeds because they were under the ownership of the CCM party, which my father worked for," she said.

Rahma questioned how Mama Sophia was able to acquire a title deed for a piece of land that has been in contention for decades.

Construction halted

In the meantime, area leaders and residents have asked the accused to stop building until the issue is resolved.

Reached for comment, Mama Sophia remained adamant that she has not grabbed anyone's piece of land.

'Whoever is accusing me of encroaching should file a case against me in court then I will be summoned to respond to the allegations," she said.

Home is better, anytime?

In other news, a man who relocated to Canada complained that he made more money in his country than when he travelled abroad.

Despite staying in Canada for 20 years, he said that he could only get two properties when he went home.

Many people were divided into two groups; those who supported him and those who said Canada was still far better.
