The funnyman noted that the money would be used to help the family in various ways.

"Medical bills for him and his daughter. He will open an exhibition shop for clothes and shoes. His wife will start a small hotel business. Rent for one year. School fees for two years for the daughter. I will advertise his businesses for free."

Mathare's man new home

Eric revisited the family to see their progress and was wowed that they had set up a lovely home.

The comedian met Juma at his doorstep and welcomed him into his home. He found the man's wife seated on one of their couches.

The living room was tastefully decorated with a grey TV stand that matched the couches.

Their bathroom had a hot shower, and it looked modern. Their kitchen had ample utensils, and the man disclosed they had two balconies.

"We have two balconies, one at the back and one at the front," he said.

Juma complains about kids getting teargassed

Juma was dramatically arrested in Mathare during the heat of the demos; he had come out to blast some police officers who had allegedly lobbed teargas and affected his daughter.

"Here I am you can shoot me...who are you pointing at? Our children are suffering while you just point at us. Here I am, then shoot me. Just point at us but remember that also you have kids.
Do you want to kill my child? My child has now fainted! I'm even wearing sandals because I'm just from the house. I have not carried any weapon; I am telling you the truth. She threw teargas at the kids...," he told the police before he was cut short.

A plainclothes cop who pretended to be one of the demonstrators jumped from the crowd and dumped him into a waiting police car, ferrying him to the police station.
