Criminals Using My Name To Extort And Harass State Officers, Head Of Public Service Felix Koskei Laments

Nairobi - Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has raised the red flag over people using his name for exhortation.

In a statement posted on his official Twitter handle, Koskei regretted that some people were moving around government offices harassing state officials.

"It has regrettably come to my attention that unscrupulous criminal elements are moving from one government office to the next intimidating state officials and extorting money in my name," Koskei said.

Koskei urged Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and CEOs of state corporations to be wary of the individuals.

"Promptly report them to the appropriate authorities for swift action. The era of criminals taking advantage of gullible Kenyans seeking jobs and government services by misusing the names of senior state officials is long gone, and firm action will be taken against these elements," he added.

TUKO.co.ke previously reported that a law graduate waiting to be enrolled in the tin roll of Advocates of the High Court nearly put her career in jeopardy after masquerading as a certified counsel in a Thika Court.

The lawyer who completed her Bachelor of Law Degree and the statutory post-graduate Law diploma at the Kenya School of Law got herself into trouble after addressing Thika Law Courts Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo, masquerading as a certified Advocate of the High Court.

The roll of advocate

Atambo was shocked to find out that the lawyer who identified herself as June Wambui and was going on record for a client had not been enrolled in the roll of advocate and did not have a Law practising certificate.

"You haven't been admitted yet. Do you know what this can do to your chances of being admitted to the bar? Why would you masquerade before me Ms Wambui what are your full names?" an irked Atambo posed during the virtual session.

Atambo went ahead to grill the Law student who revealed that she was holding over at a law firm linked to a senior counsel.

"What is the law firm? Who is the main partner in that firm? Tell me the truth because I'll still find out. Is this what senior counsel tells you his pupils to do?" Atambo continued.

Atambo went ahead to question Wambui's audacity to flout Advocates ethics as she remained in disbelief of what had just happened in court.
