Afflicted by polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), Erin's facial hair began sprouting at the age of 13.

Over the years, she employed various methods to manage it, from shaving to waxing and using hair-removal products, but the self-consciousness persisted.

"I was probably shaving at least three times a day," Erin shared.

Why did Erin decide to let her beard flourish?

However, as fate would have it, a turning point arrived when Erin's vision began to fade, prompting her to reevaluate her approach.

With support from her wife, Jen, Erin decided to let her beard flourish.

Erin's battle with health issues, including a harrowing encounter with necrotising fasciitis that led to the amputation of part of her leg, shows her indomitable spirit.

In the face of such adversity, Erin's positivity became her guiding light, even aiding her healing process, as her doctor suggested.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Erin embarked on her record-breaking journey, taking advantage of the lockdown to nurture her beard and bolster her self-confidence.

Erin's mother praises her

Wearing masks offered her an unexpected silver lining, allowing Erin to venture out without apprehension.

Erin's accomplishment resonates deeply with her loved ones, particularly her mother, Jill Roach, who praises Erin's courage and happiness.

"She’s very happy about it, and that’s the main thing," Jill expressed.

For Erin, the world record symbolises a remarkable achievement that transcends mere recognition.

"I never thought that I would be able to attain or achieve a goal that would let me be in a book," she shared.

Woman with werewolf syndrome stuns netizens

Separately, a woman with werewolf syndrome stunned Instagram users with facial hair that accentuated her beauty.

The lady posted a video focused solely on her face and stopped many Instagram users from scrolling on their feeds.

She said in the caption that the clip was one of her favourites, so she had to share it with the world.

The beauty also dropped a few encouraging words and urged her followers to stop chasing the wrong things.
