Rebecca Dawn, a renowned worship leader, creative director, and musician, has opened up about her marriage to Allan 'Sucre' Gatuthu, revealing the unique way she keeps the flame alive in their marriage.

Dawn, affectionately known as Rebekah, narrated how their paths first crossed, leading to a love story that has endured almost eight years of marriage.

In an interview on the Rawder Kidula show, she recounted that she had noticed Allan first when she spotted his watermarks on event photographs.

The first time they met was in the parking lot at International Christian Centre (ICC), where a mutual friend introduced them to each other.

"I was there with a friend of mine. He was picking something up, then Allan walked in, and my friend was like, 'That's Allan Sucre'," Rebekah fondly recalled.
"So the friend I was with, he was a mutual friend, introduced Allan and me to each other," she added.

The couple's love for each other was apparent from the start.

Rebekah was particularly impressed by Allan's respectful approach, as he refrained from flirting and instead took the time to get to know her.

After six months of knowing each other, they began a journey of love and commitment that would span a lifetime.

As the conversation on the show delved deeper into their relationship, Rebekah spoke passionately about her belief in keeping the romance alive in marriage.

She emphasised the significance of cherishing one's spouse and not showing the best version of oneself to outsiders while leaving the leftovers for the partner.

"Marriages fail when someone stops being a good Christian to their partner. The church should not be getting a better version of me than my husband does," Rebekah shared, urging Christian couples to prioritise their spouse's happiness and needs.

Giving an example of how she keeps her marriage working, Rebekah shared that her unique aspect of the approach to keeping her marriage thriving is her love for perfumes.

She revealed that her loving husband often surprises her with various fragrances, and she reserves most of them for moments at home with him.

"I love perfumes, and my loving husband gets me a lot of them. Most of it is worn at home when I am with my hubby to impress him, draw him, and bless him," she said.
"This has been my practice since before marriage and even after marriage," Rebekah expressed with a smile.

Her sentiment is a testament to the couple's dedication to maintaining the spark in their marriage, making everyday moments special and cherishing their love for one another.
