Demonstrators rally support for Traoré

Traoré received massive support from his countrymen after he was officially declared president of Burkina Faso.

In October 2022, demonstrators gathered in the capital of Burkina Faso to show their support for the country's junta leader, despite rumours of internal divisions in the army.

Traore graduated as an officer from Burkina Faso's Georges Namonao Military School, a second-tier institution compared to the prestigious Kadiogo Military Academy of which Damiba (the one he ousted) and others in the elite are alumni.
