Babu Owino's Lawyers Break Into Prayer Moments After MP Was Acquitted In DJ Evolve's Shooting

• Babu Owino was earlier acquitted in the DJ Evolve case after a Nairobi Court ruled the prosecution failed to find proof linking him to the shooting
• Moments after being cleared, his lawyers took a moment to thank God for victory and for giving the principal magistrate wisdom in the ruling
• They also prayed for the politician while acknowledging his tribulations made him grow closer to God

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has been cleared of charges of misusing his firearm, with which he allegedly shot DJ Evolve in a Nairobi club.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported a Nairobi court ruled that the probe into the case was shoddily done, adding that there was no proof that the bullet that injured Evolve emanated from Babu's firearm.

Regardless, Babu restated his commitment to standing with Evolve in his recovery after over three years of bed confinement after the verdict.

"This judgement went the way God wanted it to go. I will be happy the day that DJ Evolve will be able to walk and stand by my side, that is the day that I will say I had a victory," said Babu.

However, a video emerged showing the parliamentarian's lawyers paying for him moments after he was acquitted of the hefty charges against him.

Duncan Okatch, who led Babu's attorneys, thanked God for giving the Principal Magistrate, Bernard Ochoi, wisdom in ruling the case.

"We thank you for the wisdom that you imparted in him, for the judgement that he made today and for the impact that it will have on the lives of all of us," he prayed.

The lawyer also prayed for the politician's safety and his leadership mandate that he will keep serving those who elected him.

"You (God) have indicated that you are the one who chooses leaders for us, we commit him unto you this day, oh Lord and we know that through the tribulations he has undergone, he has become closer to you, and you have brought him closer as your child," added part of the lawyer's prayer.
