The police officer tragically killed in the line of duty was laid to rest amidst tears, tributes, and a powerful display of unity among law enforcement officers.

According to videos of the ceremony posted on Sammy Ondimu's Facebook page, the funeral service was marked by heart-wrenching performances.

There were touching speeches and a poignant gun salute as a final farewell to Constable Korir, who lost his life in a tragic accident while directing traffic in Kiambu county.

The ceremony, MCeed by Ondimu, was a heartfelt tribute to Korir's dedication and sacrifice as a police officer.

As his comrades carried the casket, the haunting lyrics of Safiri Salama seemed to encapsulate the depth of emotions felt by those in attendance.

Further speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Ondimu revealed the late police officer, who was born in 1994, was buried at his parent's home.

Police report shows Korir died on the spot

TUKO.co.ke previously reported Korir died on the spot after being hit by a car while manning traffic along the Kiambu Road-Northern by-pass junction.

Korir was directing traffic at the junction when a Prado, which the police described as unlicensed, hit the law enforcer.

A police report indicated that 33-year-old Eric Otieno Ongoya, who was driving from Nairobi to Kiambu, hit the officer and sandwiched him between the prado and another one.

Korir sustained injuries on the head and chest, dying on the spot.
