Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Wanjiku noted she always made her hubby's bed whether they slept together or not.

"I came across a knife put under the bed. I was in shock. I took the knife and threw it into the toilet. I knew I was staring directly into death," she said.

Abusive marriage for 14 years

The mother of three stated her husband of 14 years had hinted at taking away her life, and the evidence of a knife proved he could turn his words into action.

"When he came back (home), he immediately went straight to the bedroom. After a few minutes, he came out barking at me, asking if I had seen the knife, but I lied. That was a weapon which showed that he was planning to finish me someday. I was distressed, and I realised he was going to act on his threats," she said.

The woman from Kiambu shared that one day her husband told her he would kill her, stash her in a bag and throw her away.

Wanjiku said her husband would get violent, but she stayed, hoping he would change.

Mum of 3 strange to death in Nairobi

Shifting gears, a mother of three was found strangled to death in her house as her abusive husband was on the run.

The lifeless body of Beth Mwangi, a 36-year-old salon owner, was discovered decomposed beneath her bed in Nairobi.

Her volatile marriage, marred by past allegations of her husband's abuse towards their daughter, took a devastating turn.

With the main suspect, Beth's husband, David Kiarie, on the run, authorities diligently pursued leads to bring him to justice.
