KWS Moves Payment For Its Services To ECitizen Platform, Urges Kenyans Embrace It

Kenyans who want to enjoy and utilise services of Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) have been urged to make payments for the same online.

This is after KWS announced that it had moved payment for its services to the government's eCitizen platform.

In a statement by KWS Corporate Communications on Monday, August 21, the agency said the move was in conformation to the government's directive that all services be onboarded on the online platform.

President William Ruto had announced that the streamlining of government payment services in a bid to attain transparency and improve accountability.

On Friday, June 30, Ruto ordered the closure of all paybill numbers used for government services other than 222222. He gave a 90 days ultimatum.

"Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) wishes to inform our esteemed customers and the public that they can now pay for services on the eCitizen platform. This follows the directive that all government services be on boarded on the eCitizen platform to ensure efficient service delivery and transparency," read the statement seen by TUKO.co.ke.

The agency clarified that those planning to visit national parks and sanctuaries can conveniently pay entry fees and for tickets using the online platform beginning Tuesday, August 22.

KWS promised their customers a smooth interaction with the online platform of making payment describing it as user friendly.

"Consequently, visitors to the national parks, reserves and sanctuaries can now pay park entry fees at their convenience, effective Tuesday, 22nd August, 2023. The platform is efficient and user friendly to customers," added the statement.

Customers who want to use the service are required to log into https://kws.ecitizen.go.ke/ where they can access their desired services.

This comes just a few days after the parastatal announced new park and sanctuary entry fees beginning the year 2024 to 2025.

The increment in the price of tickets ignited mixed reactions from Kenyans who wondered why some of the entry fees had more than tripled and questioned if the services had been improved to match the new prices.
