Murang'a Police Launch Manhunt For Father Suspected Of Killing His 2 Children On Sunday Night

Murang'a - Police officers in Murang'a county are investigating a case where a 28-year-old man allegedly killed his two children in cold blood.

Evans Kang'ethe from Nyoni, in Kiharu, Murang'a, reportedly killed his two children, aged seven and three, with a sharp object for a yet-to-be-known motive.

Murang'a man flees

A report by Citizen TV indicated that the suspect fled from his home after the gruesome killings, and police officers have since launched a manhunt for him.

His wife is reported to have fled from the marital home a week ago after an altercation with her alleged killer husband.

The bodies of the little ones have since been moved to the Muranga Level 5 Hospital Mortuary, awaiting post-mortem.

According to the deceased children's grandmother, she got reports about the atrocity at around 9pm on Sunday after her younger son approached her bearing the devastating news.

"One of my sons came to me and told me Kang'ethe had killed the children," she told the media from her home.

Eldoret woman arrested over child's killing

In a separate incident, a 26-year-old woman from Eldoret in Uasin Gishu county was arrested after she was linked to the death of her little son and an attempt also to murder her other child.

The suspect is said to have turned against her children over a marital feud with her husband killing her two-year-old and injuring her six-year-old.

Speaking to the press after she was apprehended, the 26-year-old mother from hell begged God and the community for forgiveness, saying she was under great distress and loneliness.

Christabel Jepkogei also blamed her heinous crime on frustrations from her husband, whom she said loved one child more than the other.
