Twenty-seven-year-old Duncan Khamala is the prime suspect in his killing after he allegedly battered him to death after he went to bid his ex-girlfriend goodbye as he was set to travel; she was the suspect's current lover.

It is emerging that Siragi and the 28-year-old woman, who is a KMTC student, were trying to rekindle their relationship after their break up, and Khamala did not take this lightly.

On the material day, he was killed, Siragi went to say his goodbyes to his ex-lover and upon arrival at her house, Khamala was informed, and he went to confront him, leading to a serious fight.

After assaulting him, Khamala left Siragi lying on the road, and the athlete would later succumb to his injuries. The woman is also now in custody.

2. Daily Nation

According to this newspaper, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked the Kamba community to cut dies with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who is the perceived political kingpin of the region.

The second in command prevailed upon the Kambas to cut ties with Kalonzo, saying he has been misleading the more than two million voters in the region.

Rigathi, who was speaking in Machakos, said the former vice-president is set to lose big in the upcoming Kenya Kwanza and Azimio mediation talks.

"Nothing will come out of the talks they are sending Kalonzo to. I say this as the deputy president," he said.

3. Taifa Leo

This newspaper reports about Mombasa governor Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir's narration of his supposed handshake with President William Ruto after the 2022 elections.

While speaking to concerned Mombasa ODM supporters who were sceptical about his ties with the president, Nassir said he and the president held a closed-door meeting, culminating in a handshake last year.

He said the meeting happened right before he and the president took their respective oaths of office, and they both agreed to work together.

"There was someone who was supporting us both and he helped bring me together with the president and that was the first time he and I shook hands after a long time," he said.

4. The Star

In this paper, residents of Karati in Naivasha have been left in shock and fear after a man took his own life over a Sacco loan that he guaranteed a colleague.

The man is said to have harmed himself to evade paying the colleague's KSh 500,000 loan, which he was required to repay to the Sacco after the debtor absconded payment.

In a note, he indicated he could not bring himself to repay a loan that had not benefited him.

It is alleged that the deceased's colleague wooed him into being his guarantor for the loan before disappearing, leaving him to bear the consequences.
