The third-born child of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula wedded his fiance in a traditional ceremony in his native county on Saturday, August 26.

Alvin Wetang'ula, an engineer by profession, cemented his union with Naisula Leteipan of Maasai origin.

The event was graced by leaders of national repute, among them former speaker Francis Ole Kaparo, Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei, Trade CS Moses Kuria and former Senate speaker Ken Lusaka who is the current Bungoma governor.

Also in attendance were Sirisia MP John Waluke, Kimilili's Didmus Barasa, Tongaren's John Chikati Tongaren, Martin Pepela alias Investor of Webuye East, and Majimbo Kalasinga of Kabuchai.

Taking pride in his son's move to become a family man, Wetang'ula praised him for being wise by solely choosing Leteipa.

In a hearty piece he published on Twitter, Wetang'ula marvelled at Alvin's development from a toddler boy to now a responsible man warming up for family duties.

"I remember the first time I held you in my arms, and now, seeing you take this step towards building your own family fills me with a mix of emotions - nostalgia for the little boy you were and excitement for the amazing man you've become.
Your choice in Naisula Leteipan reflects your wisdom and the depth of your character. Always remember, love is not just about the beautiful moments; it's about standing together during the storms and finding strength in each other's presence," said Wetang'ula.

Alvin adds to the list of prominent politicians' children who have wedded in the recent past.

Other weddings of prominent Kenyan's children

In May this year, Kigen Moi, the eldest child of former Baringo senator Gideon Moi, walked down the aisle in a private high-end fete organised on the outskirts of Kericho town.

Among those in attendance were former Energy CS Charles Keter and General Mohamed Badi, former director general of the Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS).

Besides the location of the nuptials remaining unknown, other rudiments of the event also remained under wraps.

Photos shared depicted some of the guests in attendance, with none giving a sneak peek of the groom and the bride.

Kigen is the director of Sosian Energy, a Nairobi-based Sosian Energy Limited (SEL) that develops sustainability-based renewable energy projects across Kenya.

Ngina Kenyatta's wedding

In June last year, Ngina Kenyatta, a child and only daughter of former resident Uhuru Kenyatta, bid the singles' club goodbye.

She was reported to have tied the knot with her boyfriend, Alex Mwai, on Saturday, June 18, 2022.

The couple's traditional wedding was held at a private party in Nairobi, and Uhuru, his wife Margaret, other children, a few relatives, and friends graced the event.

Rich kids, among them media personality Miano Muchiri, Geff Mwai, Jack Vincent, Muigai Kamau, and Ngengi attended the wedding.

Photos from Ngina and Mwai's nuptials were shared online by close family friend Miano and others by blogger Edgar Obare.

Dennis Itumbi took to social media to share details of the newest couple's wedding, wishing them all the best.

"Ngina Kenyatta, Congratulations on your traditional wedding. May God fill your journey with blessings, love and, importantly grant you a great family," he posted.
