Nairobi - Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumichaconfessed to being wrong following her decision to 'transfer' a local police boss in Trans Nzoia.

Nakhumicha hit the headlines while attending the funeral of Joseph'Terminator' Marango, a local security guard killed during the anti-government protests in Matisi.

The CS maintained that the police were to blame for her death, adding that their slow response did not help the system.

Nakhumicha told mourners that someone must be held accountable for the death, and the first would be the local police boss.

She defended her stance, arguing that the Kenya Kwanza administration had adopted a 'one government' approach when dealing with issues.

What is Nakhumicha's take on her actions

The CS came under fire following her orders that went against the constitution's demands on transferring a police officer.

During an interview on Monday, August 14, on NTV, the CS stated that he was now aware of the lane she was supposed to operate under.

Nakhumicha explained that, given the opportunity, she would deal with the situation differently, adding that she would always be a responsive leader and citizen.

"I want to believe that moment in time I was dancing to the dust. If there is a mistake, we have to correct it. I don't want to sit in government and wait for people to do things. If I can do it, why not?
But we are working together with my colleagues, but of course, I know my lane is on matters of healthcare, but wherever I am, I represent the government. Whatever decision I need to take, I am not afraid to make those decisions. Not that I will do it again, maybe I'll do it better than the way I did it, but I will be a responsive citizen and equally a responsive leader," she said.

William Ruto unhappy with some Cs, PSs

Earlier, President William Ruto expressed anger over CSs and Principal Secretaries (PSs) who do not understand their job.

Ruto advised the head of ministries and state departments to read widely and extensively about their jobs so that they can be able to advise him.

The head of state, who spoke during the Performance Contract Signing event at State House Nairobi on Tuesday, August 1, revealed many officers he had spoken to have scanty information.
