In August 2021, a photo of James Wachira holding a blue manilla paper by the roadside, pleading for help to join high school, went viral and later, his life took a turn, all thanks to a kind Kenyan.

Why was boy with placard on road?

Wachira's journey of transformation from begging by the roadside to leading a calm school life was chronicled in a touching TikTok video posted by the wellwisher under username @king_pnk.

The viral photo showed Wachira standing on a busy highway while holding a placard asking well-wishers to help raise funds to join Thika High School after performing well in KCPE.

The image left social media users empathising with him, further leading to a series of events that would change Wachira's life forever.

Upon coming across the viral image, the generous wellwisher wasted no time helping the young boy and immediately reached out to Wachira's mother.

The wellwisher expressed commitment to helping Wachira, and he ensured the boy was able to join Thika High School.

Not only that, but he also pledged to sponsor his secondary education until he sits for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

"Yesterday the well-wisher made true their promises. He was admitted to Thika High School and promised support for four years. He is happy. His dream is on course," wrote Ndungu Nyoro at the time.

TikTok video showcases boy's growth in 2 years

The TikTok video posted by @king_pnk served as a heartwarming update on Wachira's progress two years after he reported to Thika High School.

In the video, @king_pnk takes his followers on a journey, starting with the day he met and purchased Wachira's school uniform and took him and his mother to report to school.

What was once a cry for help by the roadside morphed into a blossoming friendship between the kind man and the now Form Three student, who spend quality time together.

Accompanying the video that showcases the contrasting life of Wachira when he was pleading with his present-day life, the generous Kenyan captioned the image saying,

"Its exactly two years today!! How it started two years ago vs How it's going today ... My boy in Form 3 now."

The touching story has warmed the hearts of netizens yet again, as the comment section is flooded with messages of admiration, gratitude, and blessings for the wellwisher.

Disappointed wellwisher laments

Earlier, a wellwisher expressed disappointment after the school principal of Ndalani Boys High School allegedly rejected her offer to help Vincent Mulwa.

Mulwa gained wide attention after a video that captured him fervently engaged in prayer went viral on different social media platforms.

TUKO.co.ke reported Rish Kamunge shared her grievances in a TikTok video claiming she met resistance from the school principal.

"Ndalani secondary school principal, why are you a dream killer...The child does not even have proper accommodation,' she captioned her video.
