Bungoma - National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has cracked up the crowd in his backyard during President William Ruto's visit.

Dressed in a beautiful African print shirt and black trousers, witty Wetang'ula welcomed COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli to address the attendants of the president's event.

In a video shared by Lightcast TV, the National Assembly Speaker disclosed how a picture they took with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Atwoli sparked conversations online.

"Recently, a picture went around Musalia, a certain old man and I were in my office, and people started questioning the agenda of our meeting. I told them we had called the old man to remind him what he said," Wetang'ula narrated.

He reminded the crowd about how Atwoli jeered them in the run-up to the 2022 General Election, saying he would hand over the Luhya vote to Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.

Atwoli had stated that he would be all over Western Kenyan, locking out any possible Wetang'ula votes.

"I will be there in Bungoma, I will be there in Kakamega, and I will be there in Trans Nzoia, and there will be nowhere for one Moses Masika Wetang'ula to hide. I told him, this is where I am hiding my friend," Wetang'ula said mimicking Atwoli.

He also disclosed that he has been Atwoli's lawyer for over ten years.

The outspoken trade unionist had been categorical that President William Ruto would not win the vote.

He vouched for ODM leader Raila Odinga, whose presidential bid flopped for the fifth time at the hands of Ruto.

Four months into the vote, Atwoli had made up his mind and was playing along with the government of the day.
