Bungoma - President William Ruto has hilariously offered to pay the dowry of Mumia East MP Peter Salasya after he gets a wife to marry.

The head of state left Bungoma residents in stitches while speaking to them atop his luxurious car, from where he offered to help Salasya pay his wife's bride price.

Speaking on Sunday, August 27, the president asked the residents to look for a wife for the Azimio MP, whom he hilariously accused of being a nuisance.

In the fun banter, Ruto said the MP needed to settle down.

"Your MP has no wife, and he really disturbs people. I am actually ready to pay the bride price for him. Please get him a wife from this place and hurry up. Will you guys help him so that he can stop disturbing people," Ruto told the charged crowd.

Further, the president asked Salasya to stop associating with Azimio leaders, such as Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah whom he said has nothing to offer the first-time MP.

Ruto has been on a five-day tour of the Western region, and he, on Sunday, graced an interdenominational church service in Bungoma. Salasya was present.

Woman shoots shot at Salasya

A few months ago, Salasya gave his feedback to a woman who asked for his hand in marriage.

The woman, identified as Lydia Ronad, carried a placard with her contact information, asking the MP to say "I do" to her.

Salasya took to his Instagram, responding to the woman in the viral video with the caption:

"Warembo na Salasya nawapenda sana .Will reach you and say hi.Mr president @WilliamsRuto I remember you asking me kama nimepata sasa when you visited us in the @NAssemblyKE, naona mambo si mbaya vile kunaenda. God bless Kenya .Our country is blessed."

Salasya's wife-hunting committee

Being the most eligible bachelor, Salasya disclosed thousands of women had sent their applications to have him marry him.

The politician in a video said Kakamega woman representative Elsie Muhanda was part of those who formed the committee to get the MP a wife.

Salasya noted that the vetting committee is working tirelessly to find him an ideal woman for him to settle with.
