Digital strategist Denis Itumbi has shared details about President William Ruto and his drastic weight loss after the 2022 polls.

A comparison between the two Kenya Kwanza leaders shows a distinct difference in their demeanour that saw Kenyans raise questions about their health.

During an interview with media personality Andrew Kibe, the Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy CAS nominee dismissed concerns about their health.

Itumbi stated that they did not go to the gym but undertook an aggressive fasting program coupled with daily 30 minute-walks.

He observed that it was not an easy undertaking and even stopped participating in the program for some time.

"Okay, the programme that we did with the president on that was actually a programme that involved fasting. We did a very aggressive fasting, by the way; it was one meal for two days and then a little exercise, which is a walk for about 30 minutes every day. But it was very aggressive. Sometimes, I also stepped out," he stated.

How is he maintaining the weight loss

The blogger further disclosed that returning to normalcy wasn't easy, and he had to make a routine.

Itumbi observed that he used to take lemon tea with honey thrice a day and eat at intervals of two days.

"It was an aggressive fasting programme, not a working out program. Also, coming back to eating after aggressive fasting is not easy, so it was both dieting and a little walk. For dieting, we used to do lemon tea with honey, which I still do three times a day and then one meal in two days," he added.

Ruto admits losing weight

In May this year, Ruto disclosed that he was losing weight and has also addressed concerns that Kenyans raised about his changing physique months after the 2022 elections.

The head of state revealed that he became unfit due to the high-octane campaigns in the months leading to the 2022 elections and thus could not get a chance to exercise.

He briefly narrated that he would sometimes numb the pressure from campaigns using food, and he became unfit, and that is why he has been trying to shed the weight off.

"I have decided to cut it down because I have a great responsibility ahead of me," he said.

Ruto said this after journalist Eric Latiff asked him about his exercise regimen.
