President William Ruto has been spotted with an expensive watch and designer shoes after stepping out with a Kaunda suit.

The politician recently started rocking Kaunda suits, seemingly trying to leave a fashion mark during his tenure.

Some United Democratic Alliance politicians copied him, seemingly trying to match clothes with their boss.

On Sunday, August 13, the president travelled to Uganda for a meeting with President Yoweri Museveni.

He shared a photo greeting the veteran politician and captioned it:

“Kenya and Uganda have a firm partnership based on decades of East African brotherhood, strong cooperation, and consistent engagement.”

Ruto said the talks touched on mutual interests, including trade, security and agriculture.

He looked stylish in a sky-blue Kaunda suit, which captured the attention of Kenyans.

A keen Twitter user noticed that Ruto's watch and shoes cost an arm and a leg.

@davidjesse_ wrote that:

“If you look at William Ruto’s wrist today, he’s wearing what appears to be an A. Lange & Sohne Moon-phase, and his shoes, he’s wearing what appears to be a Salvatore Ferragamo penny loafer. Too much opulence for one trying to hide behind Kaunda suits.”

TUKO.co.ke found a similar watch worn by Ruto for sale for KSh 4.7 million in Kenya, while the shoes cost KSh 128,000.

Some Kenyans noted that Ruto was wealthy and could easily afford the items.

“Well, WSR is a rich man whose image represents the country as a whole. Let him drip out,” wrote one.

“But he is rich. We don't expect him to wear a cheap watch,” added another.

Earlier this year, Kipchumba Murkomen’s expensive lifestyle caused jitters.

On Thursday, February 2, the CS was spotted wearing a Hublot Classic Fusion Ceramic King Gold watch worth KSh 1.6 million.

According to the watchmaker’s website, the Hublot model starts from just over a million, and the prices increase with size.
