William Ruto Teases Yesu Wa Tongaren Only To Realise He'd Secretly Attended His Rally: "Alaa"

Bungoma - President William Ruto spent a week touring the Western region and launching national and county government projects.

When introducing some leaders who accompanied him, he joked about Kimilili MP Didmus Barassa, saying he was referred to as Bishop.

Amid cheers from the crowd, Ruto jokingly said as long as he was not called, Yesu was Tongaren.

"As long as he doesn't become Yesu wa Tongaren. He should be a genuine Bishop. So Yesu wa Tongaren is around," Ruto said.

In a flashback, Ruto reminded residents of the day Yesu wa Tongaren failed to honour the Good Friday.

"But I hear he was afraid of crucifixion; he was supposed to be crucified but escaped," he said.

Who is Yesu wa Tongaren?

Yesu wa Tongaren, real name Eliud Wekesa, is a controversial preacher from Western Kenya.

Wekesa asserted that God visited him in his dreams and anointed him as the awaited messiah.

He claims that he is on a divine mission and that God gave him the name and the mandate to spread the gospel worldwide.

He is revered as humanity's saviour by his adherents. Yesu Wa Tongaren urges stern adherence to his peculiar laws, which include strict guidelines for women's attire, bans on jewellery, and the maintenance of men's beards.

In contrast to the biblical Jesus, who was never married, Yesu Wa Tongaren is married and has eight children. He used Revelations 21:9 to defend his marital status.

The self-declared Christ asserts that the 'lamb's wife' permitted him to marry and have children in the scriptures.
