The daughter of Jose Ermirio de Moraes, who set up the family-owned Grupo Votorantim, Maria Helena Moraes Scripilliti entered the billionaires' circles for the first time this year. The group, which is now considered the fifth largest diversified industrial conglomerate in Latin America, is active in more than 20 countries in the aluminum, pulp and paper, energy, and cement industries.
