He is best known for being a founding member of the band Dixie Dregs in 1970. Dixie Dregs has released the studio albums The Great Spectacular in 1976, Free Fall in 1977, What If in 1978, Night of the Living Dregs in 1979, Dregs of the Earth in 1980, Unsung Heroes in 1981, Industry Standard in 1982, Off the Record in 1988, and Full Circle in 1994.

Morse became the guitar player for the band Deep Purple in 1994 and has played on the albums Purpendicular in 1996, Abandon in 1998, Bananas in 2003, Rapture of the Deep in 2005, Now What?! in 203, and Infinite in 2017.
