From 1995 to 2009 Gannon was a college basketball play-by-play announcer for college basketball on ESPN and ABC. He has also done play-by-play for Wide World of Sports, College Football on ABC, Figure Skating on ABC, WNBA on ESPN, Figure Skating on NBC Sports, and the NBA on ESPN. Gannon has hosted the Tour de France, Little League World Series, FIFA World Cup, FIFA Women's World Cup, Indianapolis 500, Belmont Stakes, Winter Olympics, and Summer Olympics.
