"This afternoon, I held a consultative engagement with women leaders driving change in their neighbourhoods across Nairobi under the banner of Agnes Kagure Foundation to get the unique needs of different constituencies as we scale up empowerment activities for the betterment of our people," Kagure said.

She expressed optimism that her purposeful empowerment programmes will change the livelihood of many Nairobians.

How Nairobi businessman plans to combat hunger

Elsewhere, in a bid to combat hunger and promote mental health among society's less fortunate, businessman Joel Muthengi launched an innovative initiative called Motomoto Social Games (MSG).

Joel, the owner of Motomoto Brands, has combined his passion for digital services with philanthropy to create a unique approach to charity.

He told TUKO.co.ke that the first event was held in Kilifi, where nearly 100 needy individuals received foodstuff.

The businessman explained that he figured games were a creative way to give back to society while uplifting the less fortunate.

The games are designed to be inclusive and engaging. They focus on the fact that there is no loser, as even those who don't win still get something.
