The family of the late 35-year-old Anthony Njomo has disclosed how they found out about his death.

Njomo was shot dead on Saturday, May 25, outside Qukin Sports Lounge following an altercation among revellers.

How did the family find out about Anthony Njomo's death?

While speaking to Citizen TV, David Njomo, the family spokesperson, who also happens to be Njomo's uncle, stated that he received a phone call from an acquaintance present at the club informing him about his nephew's situation.

"He told me that my younger brother's son had been shot. Upon hearing that, I went there and found him lying down," he said.

He additionally noted that the police were present at the location upon his arrival.

The family of the deceased has urged detectives to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

"We don't know for what reason. We don't know whether it was by design. We don't know why, we have so many questions than answers," Njomo's uncle added.

The family added that they hoped that they would get their answers at some point.

Main suspect in Anthony Njomo's murder arrested

Earlier, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested the main suspect linked to the murder of the 35-year-old American Embassy employee in Kiambu.

Detectives probing the case indicated that Njomo died after being shot in the back during a commotion that began inside the bar and spread outside.

Nason Kiteme, 28, a branding manager at a land-selling company in Nairobi, has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting.

Alfred Nganga, the nightclub's proprietor, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement but insisted that it occurred outside the club and was captured by surveillance cameras facing the road.
