He argued that Kenya is quite overwhelmed as it has sent troops to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Sudan, and Somalia.

"Washington has committed millions of dollars for the course in Haiti. Isn't it ironic that while America is ending its forever wars in Afghanistan under your leadership, you're committing Kenya to another foreign war 12000km away from Nairobi? Can you explain that?" he questioned.

How did Biden respond to Abdikadir?

In response to the question about the U.S. withdrawing its military from Afghanistan, Biden stated that uniting Afghanistan is almost impossible, which is why it is referred to as the graveyard of empires.

On the matter relating to Haiti, Biden said that the US wants to assist Haiti in a way that won't look like America is trying to impose its will on other countries.

"We checked out with a number of other countries. We offered to give all the required resources to the country that will step up for Haiti. Kenya has a first rate capability and you keep your word, that's an important dynamic," he responded.

What did Ruto say about Biden's response?

Ruto asserted that Kenya's military deployment to Haiti is about the country's belief in peace and security for humanity.

"We don't find that the US is committing Kenya. The US cannot commit Kenya. I am the President, it's me to make that decision."

Kenyan Police to Leave for Haiti

Earlier, the National Police Service was set to deploy the first batch of police officers to Haiti for a peacekeeping mission.

The first group of 200 police officers were set to arrive in the troubled Caribbean nation on May 23.

The officers will mainly be drawn from the elite Recce squad, Rapid Deployment Force and Special Operation Group.
