Baringo: Man Allegedly Kills His 23-Year-Old Brother Following Domestic Dispute

Baringo - Police in Baringo county have launched investigations following the death of a 23-year-old man in Seretunin village.

Why did Baringo man kill his brother?

Citizen Digital reported that Kevin Kimuge Chesire was killed by his brother, Samuel Chesire, aged 26, following a domestic dispute on Saturday, May 18.

Area chief Lang'ate Koskey said Kevin had a deep cut wound at the back of his head with blood oozing out.

Koskey said he received a distress call from a colleague at 1am, informing him of a fight between two brothers after they disagreed over selling their grandmother's cow.

Was the suspect arrested?

The chief rushed to the scene, expecting to break up the fight, but instead discovered one adult male from the Tugen community dead in a pool of blood.

Baringo Central OCPD Enrico Telewa Lyomu confirmed the incident, saying police officers from Seretunin Police Station rushed to the scene and arrested the suspect.

The body has been moved to Baringo County Referral Hospital Mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.

Lyomu said they recovered the murder weapon, believed to be a club with bloodstains, from the scene and kept it as evidence.

Why did the man stab his brother in Busia?

In other sad news, a man in Teso North, Busia county, allegedly stabbed his brother to death during a relative's funeral.

The two brothers allegedly engaged in a fight after they disagreed on who was to carry a liver meal at their relative's funeral.

According to a report done by Daily Nation, the man got infuriated during the argument, causing him to stab his brother in the stomach and kill him on the spot.

The suspect ran away and hid in the nearby sugar plantations, armed with a machete, and threatened anyone who approached him.
