Nairobi: Political blogger Pauline Njoroge has sought to distance herself from claims that she is headed to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's fold.

Njoroge is a known anti-government social media commentator aligned with the opposition.

Claims flew on earlier this week that she was part of the dream team set to be dispatched to Gachagua's office in the latter's bid to package himself in readiness for future political manoeuvres.

What did Pauline Njoroge say?

Njoroge, according to the purveyors of the claim, would bring on board her vibrant political and governance know-how, which would be utilised in changing the political outlook of the deputy president for the better.

But clarifying things, Njoroge wondered about the position she had been posted to without her knowledge.

In her response to one of the purveyors of the information and subsequent postings, the blogger seemed to wonder who in government would entrust her with a position, yet she is on record criticising the same regime.

"In which position have I been appointed to?" she posed.

This came a few months after Njoroge ignited a debate when she claimed that some operatives in President William Ruto's government had sought her services.

She said she had been courted with a hefty package to jump ship and spin for the government.

KSh 500,000 monthly pay

The blogger revealed that she had been offered a KSh 500,000 monthly pay if she chose to cross over to the government.

This, she divulged, while countering lawyer Silas Jakakimba, who had called out former president Uhuru Kenyatta's administration for allegedly allowing loopholes for public funds to be dissipated.

Jakakimba suggested the government did not have money due to Uhuru's supposed mismanagement.

Clapping back in defence of Uhuru, Njoroge wondered where the amount she had been offered would come from if the government was that insolvent, as Jakakimba claimed.

Njoroge was part of the Azimio La Umoja social media bigwigs who advanced Raila Odinga's fifth presidential bid in the 2022 vote.
