In the latest update, Omollo announced that the renovations of the Masinde Muliro Stadium were complete ahead of the national event.

"The extensive renovation and modernisation of Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma County, ahead of this Saturday's Madaraka Day celebrations, has been a resounding success," Omollo said.

How will the stadium benefit Bungoma residents?

The Interior was happy that the 40,000-seater stadium had been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility within four months.

"The stadium, now boasting a seating capacity of 40,000, has undergone significant structural upgrades within a strict time-span of four months, transforming it into a state-of-the-art facility," he added.

Omollo said the newly constructed stadium will provide modern amenities for the local community and offer the country the necessary pride.

"These enhancements not only provide a modern amenity for local users but also position the stadium as a premier venue for future, international sporting events, contributing to the growth of the local economy while at the same time, offering necessary aesthetics & national pride," the PS added.

Why is Charles Kahariri in Bungoma?

Earlier, residents of Bungoma got a taste of the breathtaking presence of military personnel in their midst.

Like previous events, the military and other organising teams have pulled out all the stops to ensure the event's success at the new Masinde Muliro Stadium in Kanduyi.

Ahead of the fete, the new Chief of Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri, made his presence known alongside other top military brass.

Known for their precision, the Kenya Defence Forces conducted a dress rehearsal to ensure everything would run according to plan.

Kahariri rode into the stadium on the commander-in-chief's ceremonial car before stopping for the national anthem.
