A dramatic scene unfolded amidst a community briefing on flood safety, one individual shocked onlookers by brazenly walking into a flooded area despite the chief's impassioned warnings.

The incident, captured on video and circulated widely on social media, has sparked concern and raised questions about the effectiveness of public awareness campaigns regarding flood dangers.

The episode occurred as the area chief gathered locals near a flooded road to address the pressing issue of flood safety.

With urgency in his voice, the chief emphasised the need for vigilance and community cooperation.

In a video shared on Facebook by user Esther Mwende Macharia, the chief's earnest plea echoed:

"Nyinyi mnapo kua hapa bado tunawahitaji na nyinyi ndio macho ya serikali, serikali bado inawajitaji. Kwa hivyo hatutaki kuskia kwamba tumepoteza maisha ya mtu hapa. Maisha ni kitu ya maana."

However, despite the chief's heartfelt appeal and the evident dangers posed by the raging waters, one man shockingly defied the warnings.

Disregarding the ongoing address, the individual boldly walked past the area chief and into the hazardous floodwaters.

His actions, seemingly oblivious to the risks, left bystanders astonished and concerned for his safety.
