ODM party has taken decisive action by expelling Uriri Member of Parliament, Mark Nyamita, due to his allegiance with the Kenya Kwanza regime.

His expulsion came after he disregarded a summon from party officials at Chungwa House on Wednesday, May 8, in the wake of tumultuous events in Migori and Kisii counties.

According to Edwin Sifuna, the party's secretary-general, the chaos that erupted at a funeral in Uriri, where police resorted to teargas, was allegedly orchestrated by the MP himself.

"Police fired teargas at mourners at a funeral on May 3 in Uriri at the direction of MP Mark Nyamita. He was admitted to today's meeting but did not attend. At this stage, the party wishes to fully dissociate itself from him. We have granted his wish to no longer be part of us and we advise our members in Migori that he is an agent of our opponents in the UDA with assigned tasks of sowing confusion and discord within ODM," ordered Sifuna.

Sifuna, who also serves as Nairobi senator, has called upon ODM members to address the lawmaker and his supporters appropriately, emphasising that Nyamita is not authorised to speak on behalf of or represent the party in any capacity.

Who is behind chaos in ODM zones?

The party has pointed fingers at Raymond Omollo, the principal secretary for Internal Security, accusing him of being the mastermind behind these manoeuvres.

"The master puppeteer behind these schemes has been identified as none other than PS for internal security Raymond Omollo. The party wishes to condemn in the strongest terms the blatant abuse of police and state power to intimidate our people," he added.

As per the party's argument, there are calculated plans to use state power to destabilise ODM-run counties and constituencies in partnership with rogue members of the party, some subject to ongoing disciplinary proceedings who have pledged allegiance to the regime.

Azimio, UDA MPs clash at Kisii church

On May 5, chaos erupted in Kisii county during a church service in Borabu Constituency where politicians were invited for fundraising.

The incident occurred after Azimio and UDA MPs who were present at the scene clashed, almost engaging in a fistfight.

The police who were present at the event were forced to use teargas to calm the situation
