A woman working for the Judiciary claimed that her boyfriend, who works for the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), allegedly abducted and assaulted her.

The woman, by the name Violet Indiasi, claimed the man invited her over to his home in Nairobi before abducting and beating her up on the night of January 15.

While speaking to NTV, the woman said that upon meeting with the man, he allegedly took her to Maragwa Forest in Murang'a County.

Indiasi further stated that the man also transferred money from her mobile phone to another phone before leaving her in the forest.

She added that she was rescued by an elderly man who took her to the police station to report the incident.

The woman, who lives in Eldoret, also reported the matter to two police stations in the region.

Benjamin Mwanthi, the police commander of Uasin Gishu County, confirmed that the complainant reported the issue and said investigations are underway.

However, Mwanthi stated that cases involving KDF officers are treated differently.

KDF soldiers assault 2 police officers

Earlier, on Saturday, April 27, two police officers and a private security guard sustained injuries after being involved in a fight with members of KDF.

The KDF special operations brigade was headed to the Kenya Navy Mtongwe base when they faced off with the police officers at the Likoni Ferry.

Sources reported that army personnel assaulted a guard, drawing the attention of an on-duty police officer.

When the officer went to find out the cause of the initial scuffle, the KDF officers turned their rage on him, and his colleagues later showed up to defend him.

Members of the public at one point sided with the police, hurling projectiles at the KDF officers.
