Former model Emma Too has come to the defence of radio personality Nick Odhiambo's new wife, Annie Sumbeiywo, after she was dragged online following a leaked photo and WhatsApp chat.

Why was Nick Odhiambo's wife Annie dragged on social media?

Shortly after the couple tied the knot in a flashy traditional wedding, an explicit photo from 2018 surfaced on social media, with claims that the woman pictured was Odhiambo’s wife, Annie.

This caused a stir among netizens, overshadowing the newlyweds’ joyous occasion.

Although the lady in the leaked photo did not resemble Annie, a section of netizens still dragged her online.

What did Emma Too say about Annie Sumbeiywo?

Consequently, former Miss Africa Emma Too fiercely defended Annie, praising her as an accomplished and virtuous woman who was being wrongfully maligned.

Emma implored the public to cease spreading unfounded rumours and emphasised the need for Nick to affirm that the contentious photo is unrelated to his wife.

Emma wrote on X:

"Leave my sister Annie out of your wickedness. She’s a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. She’s an accomplished woman in her own right; dragging her name on X with pics of another woman is completely unacceptable. Our in-law needs to set the record straight that the viral WhatsApp message is about his past and not his present."

Emma also called on those behind the malicious posts to apologise to Annie, vowing not to stand idly by while the reputation of a woman she holds dear is attacked.

"Whoever is responsible needs to come out and apologise to her and set the record straight; I won’t stand by and watch you destroy a virtuous woman whom I love and care about."

Nick Odhiambo responds to viral leaked photo

Meanwhile, Nick addressed the leaked photo, saying it was from 10 years ago.

The radio presenter said that although he claimed to know the woman in the picture, they were strangers.

He also said his subsequent conversation about the lady was merely playful banter with friends.
