Food enthusiast Boina has clarified a recent viral dispute with a makeup artist.

Why did Boina and Viggy disagree?

Boina and makeup artist (MUA) Viggy Mbuthi had a disagreement over a look the artist did on the food enthusiast.

According to the MUA, Boina showed up for the shoot and later took several videos and pictures.

They had agreed to share the content, and a week later, the makeup artist shared a meme with Boina as the cover photo.

This upset Boina, prompting her to back out from their earlier agreement.

The food lover said he would pay the artist for her work and asked her not to share videos and photos of her.

Despite accepting the payment, Veejee insisted on using Boina’s videos on Instagram, claiming it as compensation for her time.

Boina shares her side of the story

Now, Boina has finally addressed the issue, asserting that while she had agreed to a collaboration with Viggy, the makeup artist had violated the terms of their arrangement.

In a statement dated April 12, Boina said the MUA shared photos and videos of her without her approval and on a date different from the one initially agreed.

"I would like to address the recent accusations by Viggy Mbuthi. As a brand, I am very keen on the message, products, brands, and businesses that I would want myself and my brand to be associated with.

"I had an oral agreement with the makeup artist to promote her studio and work. As per our agreement, I was to approve the videos and photos that were to be posted and when they were to be released," Boina's statement read in parts.

As a result, Boina opted to end their collaboration, opting to pay the MUA for her work instead.

"Unfortunately, she posted my images and videos without prior approval on a date on which we did not agree. Further, the message advanced in the video and images did not sit well with me. I opted to terminate the agreement and pay her dues and damages which she stated was KSh 3,500 however, I paid her KSh 4,000," the statement went on.

However, she claims the makeup artist distorted the truth by selectively disclosing what transpired between them.

"Sadly, the makeup artist decided to share sections of an audio conversation that favoured her narrative," Boina remarked.

Boina vowed to get written contracts and agreements in all her collaborations going forward to avoid such misunderstandings.

"The lesson has been learnt. Written agreements are very important. Moving forward, having written agreements is key to avoiding any miscommunications and misunderstandings," she concluded.

Boina made a name for herself after videos of herself eating.

She shared videos showing what she ate in a day, including meals and numerous snacks.

Netizens were in awe of her exceptionally big appetite in spite of her petite stature.
