The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) boss Francis Ogolla is scheduled to be buried on Sunday, April 14.

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) who died in a chopper crash will be buried at his lovely home in Siaya county.

How many military officers died alongside Ogolla?

The general was among the 10 military officers who died in the copter crash at Elgeyo-Markwet county.

Ogolla's elder brother, Canon Hezekiah Oduor, noted that his brother had given clear instructions about his burial.

According to Oduor, Ogolla wished for a simple burial and wanted to be buried 72 hours after his death.

Oduor claimed he was shown the exact spot where his brother should be buried in their beautiufl home.

Modern houses at Francis Ogolla's village home

Ogolla's village had a massive compound that looked clean and green, with the grass looking well-trimmed.

The houses looked beautiful and had similar construction designs and colours as seen in the photos.

They were well-spaced from each other, making the compound look massive and well-organised.

A few trees surrounded the expansive compound, adding to its natural and unique beauty.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua mourns Ogolla

Elsewhere, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua expressed deep sorrow over the passing of General Ogolla.

President William Ruto announced General Ogolla’s demise in a press briefing, where he eulogised the late general as a valiant soldier.

Gachagua reflected on his last encounter with General Ogolla just a day before the fatal incident.

The duo met at the Bomas of Kenya during the Wage Bill Conference, where the DP said they engaged in a meaningful and warm conversation.
