Kenyans from all walks of life have taken to various social media platforms to express shock and concern after learning Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla was involved in a plane crash.

According to reports, the chopper went down and burst into flames in the Kaber area of Endo Ward, Elgeyo Marakwet, shortly after departing from Cheptulel Boys Secondary School on Thursday, April 18.

Authorities confirmed the loss of five individuals in the devastating accident, while three individuals managed to survive

According to Elgeyo-Marakwet County Commandant Peter Mulinge, the three survivors were airlifted by another KDF aircraft

A glimpse into the decorated career of Francis Ogolla

A previous revealed the career journey of the late Francis Ogolla, who was appointed by President William Ruto as the Commander-In-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces.

Ruto promoted Francis Ogolla to the rank of general to take over from Roberth Kibochi as the Chief of Defence.

Forces Ogolla served in the military for 39 years, having worked in different divisions in the Kenya Air Forces.
