Joel Rabuku Ogolla, alongside military officials, descended into the grave to receive the body of his father, the late Chief of Defence Forces, General Francis Ogolla.

It was a sad moment, demonstrating the respect and honour accorded to a man who distinguishedly served his country.

The gravity of the moment was not lost on the mourners, who observed in silent reverence as the General's body was lowered to his last resting place.

Religious leaders led by Archbishop of The Anglican Church of Kenya Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit surrounded the grave for the last service before burying him.

Rabuku showed commendable strength by even participating in the last phase of the funeral service.

Together with the officials, they laid Ogolla's body in the simple grave.

Joel Ogolla criticises bloggers

While eulogising his departed father, the young man sympathised with President William Ruto for the pain he felt during Ogolla's death and memorial.

He also denounced bloggers who quickly spread news of his father's passing before the Executive officially shared the tragic information as required by law.

"My mum called to inform me that a helicopter carrying my dad had gone down. 10 minutes later, I saw a helicopter burning on social platforms. What does that mean? Of course, he is dead. So bloggers, be sensitive," he said.
